Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 May 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Oliver Lardner online store ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and discloses personal information when you visit, browse, or make a purchase from the Store at this website. It is intended to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

In this policy, "you" and "your" means you as a customer or visitor of the Store.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, our operations or applicable law. The current version will always be posted on this page with the "Last updated" date above.

What personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to operate the Store, fulfil your order and meet our legal obligations.

Information you provide directly:

  • Contact details — name, postal address, email and phone number, where you choose to provide them.
  • Order information — billing address, shipping address, order details and any notes you include with your order.
  • Communications — the content of any messages or emails you send us.

Payment information. We do not collect or store full credit card or banking details on our servers. All payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects the details necessary to process your transaction and handles them in accordance with PCI-DSS standards and Stripe's own privacy policy.

Usage information collected automatically. When you visit the Store, our hosting provider may automatically log technical information such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type, version and language
  • Pages visited and the time of your visit
  • Referring page or search terms

The Store does not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers and does not place tracking cookies. We do use a small amount of browser storage (localStorage) on your device to remember your cart contents and theme preference while you browse — this information stays on your device and is never sent to us.

How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  1. Process and fulfil your order, including arranging shipping.
  2. Contact you about your order — confirmations, shipping updates and any questions.
  3. Respond to your enquiries.
  4. Comply with our legal obligations (e.g. tax records, dispute resolution).
  5. Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the Store.

We do not use your personal information for direct marketing unless you specifically opt in. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Who we disclose your information to

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • Stripe — to process your payment.
  • Shipping providers (e.g. Australia Post, couriers, freight companies) — to deliver your order. They receive your name, shipping address and contact details.
  • Service providers (e.g. our website host) — where necessary to run the Store.
  • Government or regulatory bodies — where required by law.

Some of these recipients (including Stripe) may store or process your information overseas, including in the United States. By using the Store you consent to your information being disclosed to these recipients for these purposes.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Order data is held on secured servers; payments run via Stripe's PCI-DSS-compliant infrastructure. However no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain order and payment records for as long as required by Australian tax and consumer law (currently five years for tax records), after which they are deleted or de-identified.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access — request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — request correction of personal information if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
  • Complain — make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the contact form.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

The Store is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

The Store may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies separately.
